1964 Chrysler Newport Rental Added in North Carolina

North Carolina Picture Cars has added this 1964 Chrysler Newport to its inventory through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Willow Spring, North Carolina, and gives productions working in the state access to a weathered convertible from the mid-1960s that can serve as a background element or focal point in period or dystopian scenes.

Spotlight on this 1964 Chrysler Newport

The car shows faded blue paint across its body panels along with visible rust etching on multiple surfaces. Its heavy steel frame remains intact, and the convertible top frame stands out in wide shots even though the vehicle no longer runs. Two doors open to a blue interior that matches the exterior color, and the overall silhouette keeps the classic proportions of a 1960s full-size Chrysler.

Producers can place the Newport in junkyard piles or leave it parked alone to suggest abandonment. Close-up shots pick up the texture of the weathered surfaces, while wider frames show the full length of the convertible body against rural or industrial backdrops common in North Carolina filming locations.

North Carolina Picture Cars and the North Carolina Picture Car Market

North Carolina Picture Cars works with USA Movie Cars to connect local productions with vehicles stored inside the state. USA Movie Cars maintains relationships with state-level sites such as North Carolina Picture Cars so crews searching for North Carolina picture car rental options or North Carolina film car resources can locate vehicles without leaving the region.

Willow Spring, North Carolina, sits in Wake County and places this Newport within reach of productions filming in the Raleigh area or further afield in the state. The network arrangement lets location managers and picture car coordinators review listings from multiple states through a single point of contact while still securing vehicles that are already positioned locally.

History of the 1964 Chrysler Newport

The Newport nameplate appeared on Chrysler models throughout the 1960s as part of the brand’s full-size convertible and hardtop offerings. These cars featured long hoods, chrome accents, and open-top body styles that reflected the era’s preference for large personal vehicles. A 1964 example like this one carries the straight lines and substantial proportions typical of American convertibles built before the industry shifted toward smaller designs later in the decade.

Many 1960s Chrysler convertibles survive today in varying states of preservation. Those that have spent years outdoors often develop the faded paint and surface rust seen on this Newport, giving them an authentic aged appearance that newer replicas cannot easily duplicate. The two-door layout and automatic transmission layout remain common among surviving examples from that model year.

North Carolina Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews filming in North Carolina can use the Newport to dress abandoned lots or roadside scenes that require a mid-century vehicle left to the elements. Its non-running condition removes any need for mechanical preparation, allowing set dressers to position it directly on location for establishing shots or background texture.

Still photographers and music video directors working in the state have placed similar weathered convertibles in post-apocalyptic or vintage settings. The blue color and convertible profile provide contrast against green rural landscapes or industrial sites without requiring additional set dressing.
