Crews filming in North Carolina can now access this van without arranging long-distance transport from other states.

Spotlight on this 1988 GMC Van

This 1988 GMC Van is a G20 model with a custom trim package. The exterior is finished in black and features a brush guard, roof spoiler, full ground effects, running boards, and custom mirrors. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in gray. The body is configured as a three-door van with an automatic transmission. These details make the van stand out as a recognizable replica of the A-Team van, which helps it fit directly into scenes that need that specific visual reference.

The combination of black paint, added body elements, and overall stance gives the vehicle strong screen presence. Producers can use it for shots where the van needs to read as a modified work vehicle from the late 1980s. Its distinctive look reduces the need for additional set dressing when the scene calls for that era’s customized vans.

History of the 1988 GMC Van

The 1988 GMC Van belongs to the G-series vans that were common in commercial and personal use during the 1980s. These vans were built on a full-size platform and often received aftermarket modifications such as ground effects, spoilers, and brush guards. The A-Team replica styling on this example follows that pattern of customization popular in the decade.

Vans from this period appeared frequently in television and film as character vehicles or background transportation. The three-door configuration and automatic transmission were standard for the model line, making them practical choices for both daily use and on-screen roles. This 1988 example carries those same traits while adding the specific visual cues that tie it to 1980s pop culture references.

North Carolina Picture Car Rental Uses

Producers can use this van for scenes set in the 1980s that require a modified work van. It supplies background texture in establishing shots of parking lots, streets, or commercial areas. The replica details allow it to stand in for the iconic A-Team vehicle when a production needs that reference without building a custom prop from scratch.

The van also works for commercials, still photography, music videos, and branded content that want an 1980s aesthetic. Event planners and content creators can place it as a static display piece or use it in motion for driving sequences. Its presence adds period accuracy to any project filmed in North Carolina that references that decade.
